Yoichi Takahashi explores manga potential for padel

Yoichi Takahashi, the creator of the globally influential football manga ‘Captain Tsubasa’, has expressed a strong interest in promoting padel through creative media. Currently attending the Asian Games in Japan, Takahashi serves as the honorary president of the Japan Padel Association.

Takahashi, who discovered the sport in Spain, noted the strategic and collaborative nature of padel. He suggested that producing manga, anime, or films centered on the sport could serve as a powerful tool to increase its global popularity, similar to how his previous work helped turn football into a cultural phenomenon.
