Yokai MX Expo to debut in Mexico City with Japanese culture celebration

The inaugural Yokai MX Expo is scheduled to take place on October 24 and 25, 2026, at Expo Reforma in Mexico City. The event aims to celebrate anime, manga, video games, cosplay, and Japanese culture through an immersive experience that combines contemporary pop culture with traditional folklore and art.

Organizers Víctor Luna and Luis Castañeda stated that the convention seeks to move beyond purely commercial activities, focusing instead on fostering community and connection among fans. The program will include tournaments, art exhibitions, and a cosplay championship featuring a prize pool of 80,000 pesos.

The event will host 11 international guests from countries including Japan, Russia, Germany, the United States, Estonia, Switzerland, Norway, and Luxembourg, who will participate in meet-and-greet sessions and photo opportunities.
