Yokohama charity project sells character badges to fund local welfare
Yocco18 and the Yokohama City Social Welfare Council (Yoko Kifu) have launched a collaborative charity project involving the sale of themed capsule toy badges. Each 500-yen purchase contributes 100 yen toward local welfare activities and support programs within Yokohama.
The six-month initiative is divided into three phases, each featuring characters representing six of Yokohama's 18 wards. The first phase saw 282 units sold. The second phase is currently available until September 30, and the final phase will begin on October 1.
Management and operation of the badge sales are handled by the Art Kobo Clover, a continuous employment support facility operated by Social Support Co., Ltd. The capsule machines are located at the TSUBAKI Shokudo within the Yokohama City Hall.
