Yokohama City announces environmental workshops and policy planning sessions

Yokohama City is initiating several environmental engagement programs. The Tsuzuki Resource Circulation Plant will host an environmental workshop for elementary school students and their parents on October 3. This event, organized in collaboration with FANCL and Ishii Zoen, focuses on resource circulation, plastic waste reduction, and upcycling. Participants will learn about recycling processes for cosmetic plastics and tour the incineration facilities.

Additionally, the city is planning a series of citizen workshops to assist in formulating a new Basic Environmental Plan and Global Warming Countermeasures Plan, set to begin in April 2028. These workshops, scheduled to take place between October 2026 and January 2027, will involve group discussions on expanding environmental initiatives and lifestyle adjustments for decarbonization.
