Yokohama F. Marinos advances to Levain Cup fourth round

Yokohama F. Marinos advanced to the fourth round of the Levain Cup after a 2-1 comeback victory against Shimizu S-Pulse at Nissan Stadium.

Shimizu initially took the lead in the 61st minute through a goal by Tomoya Fujii. However, Yokohama F. Marinos responded with two late goals to secure the win. Kaina Tanimura equalized in the 72nd minute, and Kei Chinen scored the decisive winning goal in the 82nd minute.

Chinen, who joined the club this summer from Kashima, scored his first goal for Marinos by connecting with a corner kick from Jordi Cruickes, utilizing his former forward instincts to score with a high header.
