Yokohama mayoral election sees seven candidates enter race

Seven candidates have officially entered the Yokohama mayoral election following the resignation of former Mayor Takeharu Yamanaka due to power harassment issues. Yamanaka is running to reclaim his position, while the other six candidates are newcomers, including lawyer Atsumi Harasawa, who is supported by various political organizations such as the Liberal Democratic Party, Nippon Ishin no Kai, Democratic Party for the People, and Komeito.

The primary issue in the election is whether Yamanaka should continue managing the city's administration. Voting is scheduled to take place on October 18.
