Yokosuka City to host virtual museum tour on VRChat

Yokosuka City has announced the second installment of its Metaverse Yokosuka tourism project, a virtual tour featuring a digital recreation of the Yokosuka Museum of Art. Scheduled for October 9, 2026, the event will take place on the VRChat platform.

The tour will be led by the creator of the virtual world, Sonotsuku (Zouji Son), alongside Yokosuka City officials. The session aims to commemorate the museum's renewal by providing insights into the architectural design and the changes observed during its recent long-term closure.

The Metaverse Yokosuka project, which began in October 2023, utilizes VRChat to promote local tourism and urban charm. The initiative has seen significant engagement, with cumulative visitors to its virtual worlds exceeding 250,000.
