Yolanda Andrade reveals diagnosis of ALS and trigeminal neuralgia

Mexican television host Yolanda Andrade has addressed her recent absence from the public eye by revealing she has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In a video shared on social media, Andrade discussed the physical challenges of the neurodegenerative disease, noting that her muscles are atrophying and causing mobility issues, shoulder pain, and difficulty with swallowing and breathing.

In addition to ALS, Andrade disclosed that she suffers from trigeminal neuralgia, a nerve disorder that causes intense, electric-shock-like facial pain. She urged the public to educate themselves about these conditions before passing judgment, stating, “Investigate what ALS is. Investigate it before criticizing me.”

Despite the physical toll, Andrade expressed mental resilience, remarking, “My body is tired, but my mind is not.” She also reflected on the emotional weight of the diagnosis, noting that the disease is incurable and expressing a desire to use her remaining time to say goodbye to loved ones.
