YOMI International CEO to speak at life and death seminar in Tokyo
YOMI International CEO Masumi Murata will participate as a guest speaker in the seventh session of the “Shigoto Semi” seminar series, titled “What does it mean to live? Thinking about the present from the end.” The eight-part seminar, organized by Nihon Shigoto Hyakka, is scheduled to run from October 31 to December 26, 2026.
Murata, who has spent 20 years in the funeral industry and pioneered ocean scattering, will lead the session on December 19. The seminar explores the concept of life through the lens of death, featuring various experts including agricultural researchers, monks, and hunters. The program will be held at Little Tokyo in Kiyosumi-shirakawa, Tokyo, and online via Google Meet.
Additionally, YOMI International will host an international cultural event, “Memento Mori in NYC,” in New York on November 5 and 6 to introduce Japanese views on life and death.
