Yomiuri Giants and DeNA add players to NPB main rosters

On March 31, the Yomiuri Giants announced that outfielder Daiki Suzuki had been registered under team control and assigned jersey number 59. Suzuki, a right‑handed speedster selected in the first round of the 2021 development draft, posted a .221 batting average with 22 steals in 60 farm‑league games this season and said he aims to contribute with his legs.

Later the same day, DeNA held a press conference at Tokyo Dome before a Giants game to confirm infielder Ikumi Takamizawa’s promotion to the main roster. Takamizawa, the 2023 top pick, recorded a .315 average with one home run and 11 RBIs in 46 minor‑league appearances, expressing delight at the "good news" and gratitude to his family and former player father.
