Yomiuri Giants defeat Sagimiya Seisakusho in practice match

The Yomiuri Giants held a practice match against Sagimiya Seisakusho at the Tokyo Dome on October 7, securing a 7-4 victory. The game served as preparation for the upcoming Climax Series First Stage against the DeNA BayStars, scheduled to begin on October 10.

Acting manager Hideki Hashigami noted that both pitchers and batters appeared to maintain their game sense despite the break. While some players like Matsumoto and Sakamoto did not participate due to lower-body conditioning issues, they were present for pre-game practice and are expected to be ready for the Climax Series. Darbeck also showed signs of recovery.

Despite the win, team members identified the matchup against DeNA as a significant challenge. Analysts pointed to DeNA's strong batting performance since September and the strategic capabilities of their catcher, Furuichi, as key factors that the Giants must overcome to advance.
