Yomiuri Giants Women to play Tohoku high school selection in Morioka

The 3rd Tohoku Women's Baseball Promotion Friendly Match is scheduled for November 1, 2026, at Kitagin Ballpark in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. The event features a matchup between the Yomiuri Giants Women, a top-tier domestic team, and the Tohoku Women's Baseball Dream Friends, a selection of high school seniors from the Tohoku region.

This tournament aims to promote and develop women's baseball in the Tohoku area. Morioka, which was certified as a ‘Women's Baseball Town’ in January 2025, is hosting the event as part of its initiative to revitalize the region and nurture next-generation athletes. The match is planned to consist of seven innings.

Prior to the game, a parent-child baseball clinic will be held featuring Kiyoshi Nakahata, a former professional baseball player and Yomiuri Giants OB chairman, and Kazuchi Miyamoto, the inaugural manager of the Yomiuri Giants Women. The event will also include booths from sponsoring companies offering free samples of new products.
