Yongin and Daehyeon Libraries Launch AI-Integrated ‘Story Coding’ Programs

Yongin City’s Seonong Library will run a free four‑session “Story Coding” program for elementary pupils in grades 4‑6 from August 22 to September 12. The curriculum combines reading the book “Rational Doubt,” a discussion and quiz, then lets participants create a fake‑news detector using artificial‑intelligence tools and block‑based coding. A city official said, “Digital education and maternal‑child health programs are aimed at supporting citizens’ future competencies and healthy lives.”

Daehyeon Library in Daegu will hold a similar “Story Coding” program from August 18 to 21, offering four sessions that integrate AI, reading and block‑coding activities. Library director Lee Geun‑soo noted, “We hope children enjoy reading and use AI and coding to express their ideas and develop creative problem‑solving skills for the digital age.” Both initiatives seek to strengthen digital literacy and creative thinking among local children.
