Yongin and Jinju sign sister city agreement for multi-sector cooperation

Yongin Special City and Jinju City have entered into a sister city agreement to promote mutual development through cooperation in various sectors, including economy, culture, tourism, and agriculture. The agreement was signed on October 16 at Jinju City Hall by Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il and Jinju Mayor Cho Kyu-il.

The two cities plan to implement practical exchange programs such as promoting tourism resources, expanding sales channels for local agricultural products, sharing administrative information, and collaborating on major festivals and exhibitions. They will also work on enhancing resident welfare and cultural group exchanges.

Mayor Lee highlighted the potential for cooperation in high-tech industries, noting Yongin's role as a semiconductor hub, while Mayor Cho expressed hope that the cities would grow together by sharing their respective strengths. This partnership marks Jinju as the 19th sister city for Yongin Special City.
