Yongin City opens 16th Smart Library at Jukjeon Sports Park

Yongin Special City has opened its 16th Smart Library at the entrance of Jukjeon Sports Park in Suji-gu. The facility, established with an investment of 81 million won, provides 24/7 unmanned book borrowing and returning services to enhance citizen accessibility.

The library features approximately 200 books, including new releases, popular titles, and children's books. Residents of Gyeonggi Province with a Yongin library membership can borrow up to three books for 14 days. The facility also supports the ‘inter-library loan service,’ allowing users to request books from other locations.

With this new addition, Yongin now operates 16 Smart Libraries across Cheoin-gu, Giheung-gu, and Suji-gu, the largest number among local governments in Gyeonggi Province. City officials noted a rising trend in usage, with Smart Library users increasing by 16% last year. To meet growing demand, the city plans to build three new public libraries by 2029 and renovate existing facilities.
