Yongin City to provide subsidies for 900 electric vehicles
Yongin Special City has announced additional subsidies for the purchase of 900 new electric vehicles, consisting of 750 passenger cars and 150 freight vehicles. Applications for freight vehicles begin on October 30, while passenger car applications open on November 6.
Subsidies vary by vehicle type and performance, with passenger cars receiving up to 9.28 million won and freight vehicles up to 16.8 million won. The city offers additional incentives for specific groups, including youth making their first purchase, low-income citizens, multi-child households, and commercial taxi operators. Freight vehicle buyers who are small business owners, farmers, or delivery workers are also eligible for supplemental support.
To qualify, applicants must have resided in the city for at least 90 days and must not have received eco-friendly vehicle subsidies within the last two years. This initiative is part of the city's broader effort to expand the distribution of eco-friendly vehicles to achieve carbon neutrality and improve air quality.
