Yongin FC signs youth development partnership with Sevilla FC
Yongin FC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Spanish football club Sevilla FC to enhance youth development, coaching education, and sports directing. The agreement, signed in Sevilla, Spain, builds upon a prior friendship agreement between Yongin City and the city of Sevilla.
Key areas of cooperation include sharing Sevilla FC’s expertise in talent identification and player development, implementing intensive training programs for Yongin FC’s U18 players in Spain, and providing online and in-person workshops for technical staff and coaches. The partnership also aims to establish a systematic sports directing process and research and development framework based on Sevilla FC’s operational model, focusing on data-driven player management.
Technical Director Lee Dong-gook is leading the initiative to integrate these European methodologies into Yongin FC’s unique environment. The U18 squad is currently participating in a training program in Sevilla to experience international training standards and participate in practice matches with Sevilla FC’s youth teams.
