Yongin to host forest culture festival for 24 national recreation forests

The National Forest Recreation Forest Management Office will host ‘Rest-Culture Day (in Yongin)’ on October 3 at Dongbaek Lake Park in Yongin. The event aims to bring forest culture programs from 24 national forest recreation forests directly into an urban setting to increase public familiarity with forest resources.

Participants can engage in various activities, including forest healing (stress level measurement and movement therapy), traditional and ecological games, and woodworking experiences. For children, there will be a forest fire suppression vehicle exhibition and hands-on experience. The event will also feature musical performances, such as Nanta and ocarina ensembles.

Various organizations, including the Suwon State Forest Management Office and forest welfare associations, will participate. During the opening ceremony, prizes such as free weekday stays at national forest recreation forests will be distributed via a lottery. Most programs are free, though some specific activities may require a fee.
