Yongsan District announces major residential redevelopment plans

Major residential redevelopment projects are advancing in Seoul's Yongsan District. The Huam 1-gu-yeok reconstruction project has unveiled a plan to transform the area into a large-scale residential complex featuring up to 35 floors and 1,999 households. The plan includes zoning upgrades and height relaxations, with 145 units designated as public housing. The project aims to utilize a maximum floor area ratio of 250% and includes significant infrastructure such as parks, roads, and public pedestrian paths.

Simultaneously, the Sanho Apartment reconstruction project in Wonhyo-ro 4-ga is seeking to increase its maximum height from 35 to 47 floors. This modification, aligned with the ‘2040 Seoul Urban Master Plan’, aims to improve the Han River waterfront skyline and integrate with the nearby Yongsan International Business District. The revised plan proposes a total of 666 households, including 100 public housing units. Yongsan District is currently conducting public inspections and briefings to gather resident feedback on these changes.
