Yongsan-gu patrol group conducts safety checks in Namyeong-dong

The ‘Night Safety Avengers,’ a joint patrol group in Namyeong-dong, Yongsan-gu, conducted a special night patrol in the Dongja-dong flophouse area to ensure the safety and well-being of residents during a heatwave.

Formed in December 2025 under the Namyeong-dong Community Center, the group consists of voluntary crime prevention units, local community leaders, the Yongsan Police Station, and the Yongsan Fire Station. The patrol focused on 12 buildings with high concentrations of vulnerable residents, checking for fire hazards, noise disturbances, and environmental issues such as broken streetlights.

During the patrol, members distributed 200 cooling scarves and 200 instant cooling packs to residents to help mitigate the effects of the heat. Yongsan-gu District Head Kim Kyung-dae emphasized the importance of close-knit public-private safety networks to protect vulnerable populations from climate-related crises like extreme heat and cold.
