Yonkers barber convicted of assault after razor attack
A Yonkers man, Jeury Fernández Navarro, 38, has been convicted of second-degree assault and fourth-degree illegal weapon possession following a violent attack at a local barbershop in 2025.
According to Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace, the incident occurred on South Broadway when the defendant grabbed a customer by the hair and used a barber's razor to slash the victim's arm. The assault continued outside the establishment until officers from the Yonkers Police Department intervened.
Navarro is currently held in the Westchester County Jail. His sentencing is scheduled for September 24, 2026, and he faces a potential prison term of up to seven years.
