Yonkers barber convicted of slashing romantic rival with razor

A Westchester County jury has found Jeury Fernandez Navarro, a 38-year-old barber from Yonkers, guilty of assault and weapon possession. The conviction stems from a 2025 attack in which Navarro used a straight-edge razor to slash a romantic rival inside his South Broadway barbershop.

Prosecutors stated that during the confrontation, Navarro grabbed the victim by the hair and swung the razor, causing a deep laceration to the man's left forearm. The injury damaged the victim's ulnar artery, nerve, and tendon, necessitating extensive surgery. Navarro faces up to seven years in prison for his crimes.
