Yonkers police rescue baby goat from school playground

The Yonkers Police Department responded to an incident at DiChiaro School on Bronxville Road last Thursday after a baby goat escaped from a neighboring yard. The animal entered the school playground and began chasing students.

Officers successfully surrounded the goat and returned it safely to its home. The department's Emergency Service Unit also worked to secure the damaged fence that allowed the animal to escape. No students, officers, or animals were injured during the event. Following the rescue, officers held an impromptu demonstration of Emergency Service Unit equipment for the students.
