Yonkers Teen Arrested After Fatal Shooting Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

A 15‑year‑old was taken into custody after opening fire on a group of people near the intersection of Elm Street and Palisade Avenue in Yonkers just before 8:45 p.m. on Sunday. The shooting killed a 20‑year‑old man and wounded four teenagers aged 14 to 16. Police say the incident appears to be gang‑related, with the suspect acting alone. Officers recovered a loaded firearm and surveillance video, and the investigation is ongoing.

Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano urged calm and questioned how a minor obtained a gun. Acting Police Commissioner Daniel Campanini said a heightened police presence will be maintained in the neighborhood.
