Yoo Seong-min calls for conservative unity ahead of general election
Former lawmaker Yoo Seong-min has signaled his intention to play a role in the upcoming People Power Party convention, which he described as critical for determining the future of conservatism. Speaking on YTN radio, Yoo emphasized that the April 2028 general election is a decisive moment for the country and the conservative movement.
Yoo proposed a strategy of “great unification” within the conservative camp, suggesting that leaders such as Jang Dong-hyeok, Lee Jun-seok, and Han Dong-hoon must integrate to ensure victory. He urged political figures to refrain from mutual criticism and attacks, focusing instead on the singular goal of winning the general election, particularly in the Seoul metropolitan area.
Regarding Han Dong-hoon, Yoo noted that while he does not know him personally, Han is a talented individual with strong combativeness who would be a great asset to the party. He suggested that Han’s return to the party should happen as soon as possible, though he noted this might depend on the outcomes of the next party convention.
