Yoo Si‑min says President Lee Jae‑myung’s confidence has gone too far

Writer and former Namu Media Foundation chairman Yoo Si‑min appeared on the 400th episode of Kim Eo‑jun’s YouTube programme “Kim Eo‑jun’s Dasbweida” on 26 May. He criticised President Lee Jae‑myung for excess confidence, saying the president’s slogan of being a “president for all” is unrealistic and that no leader can enjoy 100 % support.

Yoo likened Lee’s governing style to a “re‑construction” project that would require tearing down existing support, contrasting it with a simple “extension” that party supporters wanted. He noted the recent decline in Lee’s approval ratings and linked it to the stalled prosecution reform and internal party disputes over appointments and policy direction. Using a metaphor of an autoimmune disease, Yoo warned that the president’s self‑attack on his own base could cause lasting damage.

Despite his criticism, Yoo said he remains a supporter of Lee and hopes the president will adjust his approach and advance the delayed prosecution reform.
