Yoon Kyung Ho regains weight after losing 34kg, revives acting career

South Korean actor Yoon Kyung Ho disclosed that after completing the film *The Battleship Island* he lost about 34 kg and appeared slimmer in the TV series *Goblin*. He expected the leaner look to open new roles, but instead offers dried up and he experienced a period of unemployment.

The turning point came when the director of the movie *Intimate Strangers* specifically sought an actor who looked unkempt and weighed over 100 kg. Yoon deliberately regained weight to meet the requirement, and the role revived his acting career. He has since kept the heavier physique and continues to receive invitations for both film and television projects, while noting that type‑casting as a comedic side‑character may limit his future options.

Yoon reflected that changing his appearance did not guarantee more opportunities and that the experience taught him to consider the broader impact of physical transformation on his professional image.
