Yordan Alvarez's walkoff homer lifts Astros over Rays

Yordan Álvarez hit a two‑run walk‑off homer in the ninth inning to give the Houston Astros a 10‑8 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, ending Tampa Bay’s nine‑game winning streak, the longest in the American League this season. Álvarez finished with two home runs and six RBIs, his 29th homer of the season, and was already leading the league in home runs.

The Astros rallied from a five‑run deficit, tying the game in the seventh with a three‑run surge that included an Álvarez sacrifice fly, an Isaac Paredes RBI single and a pinch‑hit RBI single by Zach Dezenzo. Houston’s bullpen, highlighted by Josh Hader’s ninth save, held the Rays scoreless after the rally. Junior Caminero opened the game for Tampa Bay with a homer, continuing his streak of 11 homers in 11 games.
