York Festival announces program featuring guitar weekend
The York Festival has announced its full program for the upcoming event in the Wheatbelt town of York, Australia. Running from Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, the festival features three days of live music, community events, and family activities.
A central highlight is ‘TWANG! – York’s Guitar Weekend,’ which showcases various acclaimed Australian musicians. The lineup includes blues guitar legend Dave Hole, Grammy winner Lucky Oceans with his New Darling Rangers, and blues-rock guitarist Nathan Cavaleri. Other performers include Scarlet’s Way, Ian Kenny’s Cold Steel Blues, and emerging artists from the WAAPA program.
Music will be distributed throughout the town via the ‘TWANG! Sound Trail,’ utilizing community spaces such as the York Bushland Garden, RSL Memorial Garden, and local pubs and cafes. Curator Chris Gibbs noted that the program aims to create a comprehensive weekend experience through performances, workshops, and historical exploration.
