Yorkshire Ambulance Service to Open New Multi‑Million‑Pound Hull Ambulance Hub
Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is investing £6 million in a new state‑of‑the‑art ambulance station in Hull, built on a former warehouse off Clough Road. Construction firm Hobson & Porter, on a £2.8 million contract, is completing the internal fit‑out – ceilings, partition walls, flooring, kitchen units, doors, glazing, mechanical and electrical services – with hand‑over expected in the coming weeks and opening slated for later this summer.
The 60‑person construction team will consolidate staff from Hull East, Hull West, Sutton Fields and Hamburg Road into a single site that will house a fleet workshop, a non‑emergency patient transport service and training facilities. Trust officials say the hub will improve vehicle scheduling, availability and recruitment, support staff wellbeing and ultimately enhance patient care across the city and wider region.
