Yorkshire tech and education sectors expand global and US reach

Yorkshire-based educational technology company SimVenture has announced the opening of entries for Evolve! 2026, its third annual global business simulation competition. The online event, scheduled for November 9-12, invites students from schools, colleges, and universities worldwide to compete for a £2,000 prize. Participants will use the Evolution simulation to manage a virtual bicycle company, developing skills in strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making.

In a separate development for the regional tech sector, the InsurTech Corridor—a non-profit collaboration between the UK and Connecticut—is partnering with Nexus and the University of Leeds. On October 5, a delegation of US insurance technology experts will visit the University of Leeds Nexus innovation centre. The initiative aims to help UK-based firms in the insurtech, fintech, and climate tech sectors accelerate their expansion into the North American market through presentations and one-to-one meetings.
