Yosemite National Park claims improved visitor experience amid skepticism

Yosemite National Park recently released statistics claiming improved visitor experiences, noting that entrance waits are typically under 15 minutes and parking remains sufficient from Sunday through Friday.

However, these claims have met significant skepticism from recent visitors on social media. Commenters reported heavy traffic on Northside Drive and noted that parking areas, such as Curry Village, were full as early as 7:30 a.m. Some visitors expressed a preference for the previous reservation system, which was implemented in 2020 to manage overcrowding.

The National Park Service has previously addressed these issues through the Biden administration’s “Visitor Access Management Draft Plan and Environmental Assessment,” which aims to tackle longstanding problems like road congestion and parking lot overcrowding.
