Yoshida Masanori hits 5th MLB home run as Dodgers beat Red Sox

Japanese outfielder Yoshida Masanori (33) started as the designated hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Boston Red Sox at Dodger Stadium. In his first appearance in 15 games, he recorded a solo home run – his fifth of the season – along with a second hit, two RBIs and a walk, raising his batting average to .264.

Yoshida said the three‑game winning streak against a strong opponent felt good and emphasized the team’s focus on finishing each game strong. The game also featured a “Samurai showdown” with fellow Japanese star Shohei Ohtani on the mound for the Dodgers.
