Japanese baseball players hit milestones and begin off-season training
Japanese professional baseball players are entering new phases following the conclusion of the season. In Major League Baseball, a historic milestone was reached as Shohei Ohtani, Kazuma Okamoto, and Munetaka Murakami all recorded 30 or more home runs in a single season, marking the first time three Japanese players have achieved this feat.
In Japan, Yomiuri Giants players have begun autumn training to address individual and team shortcomings. Captain Yukihiro Kishida expressed regret over his limited playing time and vowed to improve his batting. Veteran outfielder Yoshihiro Maru reflected on a season where he felt unable to contribute significantly, noting the team's struggle to establish a consistent lineup. Additionally, pitcher Taisei is working on refining his slider and forkball while adjusting his mechanics to prevent future elbow injuries.
