Yosun Tire to invest Rp4 trillion in Batang manufacturing facility
Chinese tire manufacturer Yosun Tire and Rubber has announced a commitment to invest Rp4 trillion to establish a manufacturing facility in the Industropolis Batang Special Economic Zone (KEK) in Central Java, Indonesia. The project involves developing production facilities on approximately 40 hectares of land and is expected to create around 4,000 jobs.
The new plant will focus on export markets and is intended to serve as the company’s headquarters in Indonesia. Weng Jisheng, General Manager of PT Yosun Tire and Rubber Indonesia, stated that the strategic location and growing industrial ecosystem in Batang make it an ideal base for their business expansion.
This investment follows other significant Chinese industrial entries into the region, such as LBM New Energy’s Rp1.5 trillion lithium iron phosphate battery plant. Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi emphasized the provincial government's commitment to facilitating investment through streamlined permitting, land preparation, and security to ensure economic growth.
