YouGov survey reveals sexual satisfaction gap for women in Germany

A YouGov survey conducted on behalf of the dating platform Ashley Madison reveals a significant gap in sexual satisfaction among women in long-term relationships in Germany compared to international trends.

In Germany, only 29 percent of women aged 45 to 54 reported that sexual pleasure was a priority throughout their relationship, while 35 percent of women in the 25 to 34 age group felt the same. In contrast, across ten other surveyed countries, 39 percent of women in the 45 to 54 age bracket and nearly half (48 percent) of those aged 25 to 34 reported similar satisfaction.

The study, which surveyed 13,597 adults across eleven countries including Spain, Canada, Brazil, Australia, the USA, the UK, and Switzerland, suggests that communication may play a role. Only 19 percent of women in Germany reported that an increased awareness of their own sexual desires motivated them to express those wishes to their partners, a figure significantly lower than the 31 percent reported internationally.
