YouMedia Award 2026 honors Swiss youth media projects

The second annual YouMedia Award, a Swiss youth media prize, was held at the Progr in Bern. The event saw a significant increase in participation, with over 250 young people aged 13 to 20 submitting media projects, nearly doubling the number of entries from the previous year.

Winners were recognized across seven categories for projects demonstrating creativity, thorough research, and social relevance. Prize money ranging from 4,000 to 8,000 was awarded to winners in categories including Luck, Health, Money, Justice, Society, and the YouNews Youth Media Week. The TechAngels association received an honorary award for its work in peer-to-peer media literacy.

Jury President and YouMedia co-founder Franz Fischlin noted that the event demonstrated the vitality of journalism, highlighting the talent and enthusiasm shown by the young participants.
