Younes Ebnoutalib chooses Germany over Morocco

Mourad Oumani, the agent for Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Younes Ebnoutalib, has provided insight into the player's decision to represent Germany over Morocco. Oumani attributed the choice largely to the personal involvement of German coach Jürgen Klopp, stating that Klopp’s direct outreach and presentation of a sporting project were decisive factors. “When Klopp calls you, you must go to him,” Oumani remarked.

In contrast, the agent criticized the approach taken by Moroccan national team coach Mohamed Ouahbi. According to Oumani, Ebnoutalib did not feel the same level of confidence from the Moroccan side, noting that the player was led to believe the team already possessed sufficient attacking options. While Oumani acknowledged the significant efforts made by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to retain the player, he noted that Ebnoutalib questioned why such strong interest had not been demonstrated earlier.

These comments offer a different perspective from Mohamed Ouahbi, who previously maintained that he had been monitoring Ebnoutalib since the previous season and had included him in several preliminary selections. Ouahbi had stated, “Morocco is not negotiated, it is earned.”
