Young Danish drivers show higher tolerance for distracted driving

A new study conducted by Rådet for Sikker Trafik in collaboration with insurance company Alm. Brand reveals that young drivers in Denmark hold more relaxed attitudes toward distracted driving.

According to the survey of 2,425 drivers, 14 percent of those aged 25 to 34 believe it is acceptable to be inattentive while driving. Among the 18 to 24 age group, 11 percent shared this view. Specific examples of inattention cited in the study include using handheld mobile phones, searching for items, or interacting with digital vehicle screens while in motion.

In contrast, older demographics show significantly different attitudes. Only 2 percent of drivers aged 66 to 75 and those aged 75 and older consider being inattentive behind the wheel to be acceptable.
