Young K releases second solo album “YOUNGEST”

South Korean singer‑songwriter Young K, the bassist and vocalist of Day6, released his second full‑length solo album YOUNGEST on July 27 at 6 PM. The 15‑track record, issued nearly three years after his debut solo effort, explores his personal identity under his birth name Kang Young‑hyun, with the title track “Shut the Door” symbolising emotional self‑protection.

The album was produced with long‑time collaborator Lee Woo‑min and features contributions from producers such as GroovyRoom, Sunwoo Junga, Poptime and Bumzu. In a press interview at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun in Seoul, Young K described the project as a “most personal” reflection after a decade with Day6. A solo tour supporting YOUNGEST will begin with concerts from August 14‑16 at Inspire Arena in Incheon.
