Young man rescued from suicide attempt on Italy's Clementino Bridge

On 25 June 2026, a young man from Rome threatened to jump from the Clementino Bridge in Civita Castellana. Two passing motorists stopped him and engaged him, while an ambulance crew arrived on scene to provide medical assistance. Carabinieri followed, securing the area and managing traffic, which was halted for about half an hour. The combined effort prevented the fall, and the young man was later taken to Hospital Andosilla for examination.

The incident caused a temporary road closure on the bridge, but normal traffic resumed after the rescue operation was completed.
