Young Poles face significant sleep deprivation
A report titled ‘Troubling Sleep of Young Poles. 2026 Edition’ reveals that one-third of Poles aged 18-35 sleep an average of six hours or less per night. According to the study conducted by UCE RESEARCH and ePsycholodzy.pl, 52.2% of this demographic reports sleeping between five and seven hours, while only 23.4% achieve the recommended seven to nine hours.
Experts warn that this sleep deficit is particularly dangerous for those in education or early career stages, as it can hinder memory processes and skill accumulation. Research indicates that sleeping fewer than six hours a day is associated with a 13% higher risk of premature death and is linked to several major health issues, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
