Young Thug faces legal dispute over 2015 Lil Wayne tour bus shooting

Attorneys for rapper Young Thug, also known as Jeffery Williams, appeared in Cobb County court regarding a long-standing civil lawsuit stemming from a 2015 shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus in Atlanta. The lawsuit was filed by Alvin Lewis, the driver of the bus at the time of the incident, who is seeking damages for emotional distress.

Lewis’s legal team alleges that Young Thug and Bryan Williams, known as Birdman, orchestrated the attack through an individual named Jimmy Winfrey, known as Peewee Roscoe. The plaintiffs have cited recorded jailhouse conversations between Young Thug and Winfrey as evidence of their connection.

Defense attorneys deny these allegations, arguing that a $25,000 payment made by Young Thug toward Winfrey’s legal fees was a gesture of support for a childhood friend rather than payment for a crime. They further contend that there is no direct evidence linking the rappers to the shooting. The case continues as Judge Eric Brewton reviews the evidence presented.
