Youngstown State University Provost emphasizes collaboration
Jennifer Adams, the provost and vice president for academic affairs at Youngstown State University (YSU), delivered the annual State of Academic Affairs presentation with the theme ‘Challenge accepted’. Adams emphasized the necessity of collaboration and transparency to navigate the current uncertainties facing higher education.
During her address, Adams highlighted the recent successful collective bargaining agreements between the university and the Ohio Education Association and the Association of Classified Employees. The agreements, approved on August 7, include salary increases for union members over a three-year period. Adams noted that 97% of faculty viewed the agreement favorably.
Additionally, Adams addressed the growth of the YSU Steubenville campus, which currently has 91 students enrolled across 12 different academic programs, including engineering technology, business administration, and nursing.
