Youngstown State volleyball faces recent losses

The Youngstown State University volleyball team suffered two consecutive losses during a recent weekend of Horizon League play. On October 30, Wright State University defeated the Penguins 3-0 in sets, ending Youngstown State’s four-game winning streak. Wright State maintained its 12-0 conference record with the victory.

Following that match, the Penguins played Northern Kentucky University on October 31, resulting in another 3-0 sweep. Despite leading the third set 16-11, Youngstown State was unable to secure the win, losing the set 25-19. The team currently holds an 11-12 overall record and a 7-5 record in conference play.

Head coach Riley Jarrett has overseen a significant program turnaround, moving the team from a 9-20 record prior to her arrival to a competitive position in the Horizon League. The team is currently aiming for a first-round tournament bye.
