Youssouf Fofana joins Sevilla on loan from AC Milan

AC Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana has joined Sevilla on a loan deal that does not include an option to purchase.

The move follows a failed attempt to secure a transfer to Olympique Lyonnais. A previously expected loan to the French club, valued at €2m with a €12m purchase option, collapsed due to complications surrounding the transfer of Malick Fofana between Sunderland and Crystal Palace, which prevented Lyon from registering a replacement.

Fofana had been excluded from coach Ruben Amorim’s plans at AC Milan, missing summer friendlies and team training sessions. While Turkish clubs Besiktas and Galatasaray had expressed interest, the player ultimately moved to Spain. Reports indicate the loan is free, with Sevilla covering only a portion of the player's salary.
