Youth AI usage reveals growing skepticism and job market concerns

A Tele2 study reveals a paradox among young people (ages 18–24) regarding artificial intelligence. While nearly 70 percent of this demographic uses AI, they express significant skepticism. Approximately 70 percent of respondents believe AI makes people lazier, 60 percent fear it will harm human creativity, and more than half worry it will eliminate more jobs than it creates.

Simultaneously, the professional landscape is undergoing rapid transformation. Approximately 79 percent of companies are already utilizing AI agents—intelligent systems capable of reasoning, planning, and executing multi-step tasks. Experts note that while AI is automating routine processes in sectors like finance and software development, its primary value lies in augmenting human potential and accelerating decision-making.

As the nature of work shifts toward human-AI collaboration, experts suggest that the focus for future professionals should be on adapting to these technological changes rather than resisting them, as AI continues to redefine existing roles and create entirely new specialties.
