Youth athletes secure medals in European wrestling and Czech track events

Croatian wrestler Veronika Vilk, originally from Skopje, added a U‑20 European silver medal to her collection after a series of junior and cadet successes, including world‑school games medals and U‑23 podiums. She credited intensive training camps in Kyrgyzstan, Japan and the United States for her development and said she aims to qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. "I have to travel the world to get the sparring partners we lack at home," Vilk explained.

Czech middle‑distance runner Monika Železníková shone at the national junior and youth championships in Olomouc, taking bronze in the 1,500 m (4:30.42) and silver in the 3,000 m (10:14.04) despite hot conditions. Club coach Pavel Kunt praised her performance, noting she "added silver on the double‑distance track" after her earlier bronze.

Both athletes highlighted the importance of strong coaching and international experience in achieving their results.
