Youth awards presented to community leaders in Hidalgo and Yucatán

Various regional youth awards were presented in Mexico to recognize talent and community contributions. In Mineral de la Reforma, Hidalgo, the municipal government honored 16 individuals out of 75 participants with the 2026 Municipal Youth Award. The ceremony, led by Mayor Eduardo Medécigo Rubio, recognized achievements in social, cultural, academic, and athletic development. Mariana Monzalvo Reyes was named the 2026 Youth Ambassador.

In Yucatán, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena presided over the 2026 State Youth Award ceremony, honoring 15 youths and collectives. The awards covered diverse fields including science, environment, human rights, and technology. This year's ceremony introduced five new categories: Knowledge Dissemination, Rural Production Impulse, Women's Rights Activism, Intergenerational Bridge, and Technological Innovation. Each recipient received a 15,000 peso economic stimulus to support their ongoing projects.
