Youth brawl recorded near Santa Catarina Park in Funchal

A video capturing a physical confrontation involving more than ten youths near Santa Catarina Park in Funchal has circulated on social media. The footage shows several young people engaged in intense physical fighting before a man intervened to calm the group and end the aggression.

Miguel Pita, the regional coordinator for ADN, shared the video and criticized the behavior as “dysfunctional.” He suggested the violence might be influenced by alcohol or other substances and argued that such anti-social attitudes could be addressed through military service, which he claims instills responsibility, respect, and discipline.
